Black Sheep Lodge down in South Austin puts out a respectable bacon cheese burger. They can’t be troubled with cutting their own fries, instead opting for a frozen potato product issued from some far off convenience food factory.
Too bad as I really enjoy their food. The scene is mob as the joint goes to capacity night in and night out. It’s sports-y with a touch of pick up thrown in for good measure. There are wildcats afoot as well as your basic huckleberries in shower shoes and distressed denim pursuing them.
I’ve never had a bad meal here. One imagines they’ve hired someone in the kitchen who prizes consistency in his product as it always tastes exactly the same. No mean feat considering the numbers they must be putting up via the wild, huge crowds.
Nice selection of beers too.
