Rest In Peace: Baby Doll Tee Eva

Eva Louise Perry is dead at age 83. The legendary New Orleans baby doll was a noted baker, performer, and entrepreneur who paved the way for hundreds of women in the Crescent City to become business owners. She founded her company Tee Eva’s Pralines & Pies in 1989 and would go on to be a linchpin in reviving the storied baby doll tradition in New Orleans.

She handed her business down to granddaughter Keonna Thornton Sykes in 2003 but Miss Eva could still be found on second line routes with a big basket of pralines for sale.
